Edo state Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Osaze Osemwegie-Ero has assured of the current administration’s determination to revamp the state’s tourism sector. This he said, “will help to promote economic and sociocultural development in the state”.

The commissioner disclosed this in Benin city during today’s celebration of world tourism day.

According to the honourable commissioner, “the government is committed to revamp about 58 tourist sites across the state, as this will help to boost local and foreign tourist patronage and enhance the quality of life”.

He said some of the very important tourist sites to be revamped include the historical Benin moats, zoological gardens and parks, symbolic Igun bronze centre and lots more.

Hon. Osaze enjoined all prospective investors in the state and diaspora to invest in tourism, and reassured the state government’s readiness to partner with them in achieving an Edo that will be a destination point for tourists across the world.

He also used the occasion to wish everyone a happy World Tourism day.
