The BMSG received the vote of confidence just passed in President Muhammadu Buhari by the NEC of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with excitement and agreed wholeheartedly that the President deserves such a vote and more.

The Group in a statement signed by the Chairman, Hon. Austin Braimoh and the Group’s Secretary, Chief Cassidy Madueke said as a support group for the President, they are convinced that the vote of confidence was not prompted by sycophancy, but rather an appreciation and endorsement of the achievements so far recorded by the Present administration over the past two years and months.

“The Government of President Buhari, to all intents and purposes, has been focused and painstaking in delivering on his major promises to Nigerians before and during the last presidential election.”

“The Buhari administration has fought terrorism to stand still by decimating Boko Haram while reclaimed the territories and communities lost to the insurgents, most especially in the northeastern zone of the federation. The same government recorded a huge success in halting militancy in the Niger Delta, creating veritable avenue for growth of national economy with the return of oil exploration in the zone.”

In the same vein, the Group said the Present government battled and halted the biting recession that confronted Nigeria months back, revived the foreign exchange market, and by extension, rejuvenated the economy. It also created an enabling environment for industrialization and manufacturing on the plank of economy diversification with the Agric sector on the driver’s seat. More importantly, the government’s initiatives on Ease of Doing Business in Nigeria have started attracting foreign investments.

“The fight against corruption has equally achieved unprecedented feats with monumental recoveries of looted funds and confiscation of ill-gotten properties, while machinery had been set in motion for prosecution of offenders.”

In all, the present government has set Nigeria on the path of sustainable progress with peace and tranquility reigning supreme, leaving Nigeria with a robust hope of emerging as a country to look up to in the comity of Nations soonest.
