Felicitations on the Birthday of a Quintessential Gentleman; Hon. Osarobo Idahosa

…sends words of encouragement on the occasion of his birthday.

Our dear good people of Ikpoba-Okha, Edo State, and Nigeria in general, these are indeed trying times for us all, and everyone has seen their lifestyle suffer some form of unexpected disruption.
Ordinarily, I would have loved to celebrate my birthday this year with the warm and effusive camaraderie of my people as I always try to do, especially for the successes achieved so far, but the present circumstances dictate otherwise.

As the legendary author Chinua Achebe once said “When we gather together in the moonlit village ground it is not because of the moon. Every man can see it in his own compound. We come together because it is good for kinsmen to do so.” As kinsmen, there is need for us to obey the instructions of the Federal, State and Local Government in our collective quest to stamp out the covid-19 spread.

I am proud that the good people of Ikpoba-Okha particularly and Edo State in general have continued to remain law abiding and have complied with the instructions of constituted authority in helping to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

I want to specially thank the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari for taking control and putting palliatives in place to cushion the effects of this lockdown. May God continue to bless and guide you our dear amiable President in your quest to free Nigeria of the Covid-19 pandemic.

I enjoin and encourage you my Ikpoba-Okha family to eschew all forms of gregariuos activities, as these are capable of accelerating the spread of the virus. Continue to keep yourselves safe by deligently observing all preventive measures and maintaining good personal hygiene.

With the addition of another year to my life, I promise to always put the wonderful people of Ikpoba-Okha first in all activities regardless of the sphere of influence within which they may fall. As we all join hands together to lift up our local government, we will remain the cynosure of all eyes.

Long live Ikpoba-Okha
Long live Edo State
Long live Nigeria.
